Growing Change: What is Windy City Harvest?

In Chicago’s industrial urbanscape, is it possible to grow sustainable food? Growing Change follows passionate Chicagoans as they learn how to farm in the city. In Windy City Harvest, students spend more time in gardens than in the classroom. This documentary examines the lives of people at the frontlines of Chicago’s budding local food movement. This short video was created in early 2009 by Mitra Sticklen and Christine Nielsen as a demo reel for a longer film about farming in Chicago. This youtube version is lower quality than the original (contact me for the higher quality version). Special thanks to Windy City Harvest, Fire Escape Films, and Judy Hoffman.
