While Joel is surely a Jewish name, they just as surely speak Arabic in Cairo. I just presumed you were having trouble with English since it was so easy to recognize the typo and the acronym.
If you can imagine the Renaissance without the influence of Arabic thinkers, then your imagination surely dwarfs mine. Me, I’m glad we have Arabic numerals and algebra (aka “al-jabr.”)
@lyletuck – I imagine it would be. English is my first language and I don’t speak Arabic. JoeI Cairo is the character played by Peter Lorre in ‘The Maltese Falcon’. Also, it’s not an Arabic name it’s Jewish. Lastly, Arabs(with the exception of a small number of Druze) are the lowest forms of life on earth. They are vermin. Thank you for your reply though.
